Bronze

Bronze is an alloy consisting of copper and other metals, such as aluminium, nickel, beryllium or tin. However, bronze is primarily a copper-tin alloy.

The alloys obtained by adding tin to copper have good mechanical properties and high corrosion resistance. Since these alloys have a good workability and plasticity, they can be laminated, extruded, forged, pressed or drawn. Bronze also contains other elements in addition to tin.

Bronze is used to make bearings and bushings, gears and high-pressure hydraulic equipment.

Bronze is commercialised in the form of: plates, strips, bars, pipes and cast bronze.
